The new Swedish Electronic Communications Act (SFS 2003:389) states that anyone who visits a website with cookies must be informed about what they are and how they are used.

A cookie is a small text file that is issued from a web page and, if your web browser support/accept it, will be stored on your computer hard drive. The containing information is used to support the web server in order to enhance the functionality and/or experience of the web page. I.e. the web server can remember your identity on a web site that requires authentication.

The Pharma Consulting Group web server uses a "session cookie" to preserve session state when you browse the site (menu selections, etc) and to keep track of who you are when you are logged in. No personal data is stored in this cookie, and no information about your visit on the Pharma Consulting Group web applications can be traced using this cookie.

Session cookies are only stored temporarily, and are removed from your computer when the session time out (because of inactivity), when you log out or when you close your web browser.
